About the Amelix Entrepreneurship Academy

The Amelix Entrepreneurship Academy is a new and unique concept in hands-on business learning currently running in Canterbury with two more sites going live in 2024 – Dover Christ Church Academy and The Turner Sixth Form in Folkestone. Students will experience running actual businesses for profit. This profit will then be used for them to start their own business.

The aim is simple, the students will leave either with their own business, as a partner in a business or with the skills employers crave, a place a university or a combination of them all.

Is this course for you?

A two-year course written by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs

33% of young people who receive good entrepreneurship education, go on to start up a business that employs 2 or more people. It also creates intrapreneurial skillsets that employers desire.

Year 1

You will manage and run real trading businesses, from the academy, pitching for contracts and serving real customers.

You will get to choose a business to manage. These businesses include an outsourced contact centre, the HatHats Barista Academy, a couple of online stores, as well as a telecoms company.

You will also start developing your own business plan. All profits made go back to helping you start your own business in year 2.

Year 2

You choose.

Build your own business from scratch or work within an established business.

You can present and pitch your own business plan to genuine investors to get real money. Mentors, who run their own successful businesses, will give you support and guidance. You’ll leave with your own business which is yours forever.

If you don’t want to start your own business then you can run a business that has already been set up. You’ll develop your people management and commercial awareness skills, ready for when you leave.

You will leave the course with a Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship
